Georgia is one of the most south-easterly states in the U.S.A. It stands should to shoulder with the Carolinas to its east and Alabama to the west. The foot shaped Florida lies on its southerly border and to the north Tennessee caps its northerly rim. It has a history of conflict being a major player as a once Confederate nation battling the Union. On the shoulders of Atlanta lie the mountains of Northwest Georgia and the Blue Ridge mountains to its east. The lakes, flora and fauna continue through the heartland of Georgia varying with the heightening subtropical climate as it travels southwards. The historical Civil War continues too with localized versions added. Freshwater fishing turns to seawater fishing as we reach the coast and its one hundred miles of sun laden beaches. There are plenty of facilities here for those chilling in the hot sun, and plenty of possibilities for sporting on the water whether it is by skis or by boat. The islands are a welcome refuge and often it bubbles to life with the emerging noses of dolphins and whales rising to the surface.
